Hu Jintao on inspection tour of Qinghai
(Xinhuanet) Chinese President Hu Jintao paid a three-day visit to Qinghai Province, the region known to Tibetans as Amdo. During the trip, Hu called on the nation to boost development for the people and by the people and to ensure that they enjoy the fruit of such development. Accompanied by local officials, Hu visited rural areas, enterprises and urban communities "to learn how the central government policies for helping people in difficulties had been implemented." As chairman of the Central Military Commission, Hu also met officers of the People's Liberation Army stationed in the province.
