Another Unopposed Miss Tibet
The Miss Tibet pageant held yearly in Dharamsala received a setback yesterday when only one out of the total 8 original applicants turned up to confirm her participation. Lobsang Wangyal, director of the Miss Tibet Pageant, said that the girl will be crowned Miss Tibet 2005, and presented with a scholarship cheque of one 100,000 rupees (£ 1,289; € 1,891; US$ 2,275). In a similar scenario, Tsering Kyi was crowned Miss Tibet unopposed in 2003.
