Scheduled flights to Lhasa
(China Tibet Information Centre) Sichuan Airlines Co., Ltd. announced that daily non-stop scheduled flights between Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), will commence on 27 August. Sichuan Airlines has bought six A319s from the European-based Airbus for 2.3 billion yuan (GB£154.9 million; US$284.1 million; UER227.3 million) to fly the Chengdu-Lhasa route.
