New airport planned in western Tibet
AFP reported that, according to Yan Shijin, deputy director of the TAR's development and reform commission, China plans to build one of the world's highest airports at 14,300 feet above sea level in Ngari prefecture, near the border with the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir .
