Survey on Tibetan population to start in November
The China Tibet Information Centre announced that a sampling inquiry on Tibetan population will be launched on 1 November 2005. Over 110,000 people taking 4.22% of total Tibet Autonomous Region population from 228 villages in 7 prefectures will be involved in this inquiry. Near 6,000 censors will be transferred for the population sample survey, questionnaires will be filled by these 110,000 people, besides that, about 4,000-5,000 people will "get security inquiry". The findings of this survey will be made available during the second half of 2006.
