20th anniversary of Shanghai’s Tibetan school
(Xinhua) Shanghai celebrated the 20th anniversary of its first Tibetan student class at Shanghai Gongkang Middle School. The city has offered special classes for Tibetan students at Shanghai Gongkang Middle School, Shanghai Huimin School and Shanghai Administrative Management School since 1985. According to the Shanghai Education Commission, to date, Shanghai has provided education to more than 2,000 Tibetan middle school students and over 700 vocational school graduates at a cost of nearly 150 million yuan (UK£ 10.8m; US$18.57m; EUR€15.66m).
